China Jan net new loans top 1.3 trillion yuan -paper

BEIJING, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Chinese banks made net new local-currency loans of more than 1.3 trillion yuan last month, the Shanghai Securities News reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed commercial banking sources.

It was the latest in a series of media reports projecting January's loan total. Other newspapers have mentioned amounts ranging from 1.5 trillion yuan to nearly 1.6 trillion yuan.

The central bank is due to release the loan data this week.
